Montecatini Terme/Spas
 

Just wondering if anyone on these boards has ever been to Montecatine Terme or any other spa in Italy? I have been to Chiancano Terme (forgive my spelling)and only had time for a facial. I'm leaving for Italy in 5 weeks and Montecatini Terme would be a good day trip while my husband spends time with his Father. I've done a web search and I'm not getting that much information. Mostly on the town itself, and not any individual spas. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

I got to Montecatini Terme early in the afternoon last spring, and all the spas I saw were closed for the day. Not just for the afternoon break, but for the rest of the day. I couldn't stay overnight, so I can't tell you what it's like to actually go to one of the spas, but I'm just advising you to keep researching and check the hours they will be open.

Hi Dawn. Last August my daughter made an appointment, or rather I made it for her, at Montecatine Termi. I believe I called a number that was listed in the spa information in Fodor's. To the best of my memory, it was kind of like a central spa number. You tell them what you would like and they tell you where the appointment is. She had a full body mud bath and she said it was wonderful. There was a whole list of services, but this is what she particularly wanted. It was about $35, I think. I can try to find the information for you.

the spa at the Grand Hotel Vittoria in Montecatini Terme is open year round. It's on a smaller scale than the others in the area but they have a decent selection of treatments and a nice restaurant. The town itself is gorgeous!

We too are going to be in Montecatini for a week for an art course. I would like to take a few hours to have some services and would like to find out about the waters there--does one soak and drink and is that available all the time. If anyone has had any particularly good experiences or has recommendations, I would love to hear about them. Many thanks.
