Monte Carlo Casino

Hi

I don't gamble and know nothing about casinos, and my memory of the casino at Monte Carlo is quite vague, from about 23 years ago. However, a client insists that I'm wrong, so I have to ask:

Isn't there just one casino in Monte Carlo? She thinks it is like Las Vegas and all big hotels have casinos. I thought there was just one large, state owned casino.

Does anyone know? Is there a good link to the casino?

Ok, I found this link:

I'm still a little confused: is there one casino?

Some of the big hotels (Fairmont, Meridien) have their own small casinos, in addition to the big famous one. They all require passports for entry (big brother wants to keep the locals from wasting their money).

In addition to the fancy old casino there is a more Vegas-style casino in the Loew's--no dress code and no cover charge if I recall correctly.

Well, wasn't I wrong?

Which would you recommend during a large cruise ship stop?
