Mont St Michal to Avignon on Train/Bus
 

I would like to go from Mont St. Michal to Avignon on train/bus. Using https://www.sbb.ch/, I found a train that will do so in nearly 9 hours! Is there a shorter route?

I don't mind going to neighboring towns near Avignon as long as it is not a 9 hour trip!

It is faster to go via Paris.
Pontorson Mont Saint Michel to Paris takes about 3 hours with a change in Caen or Rennes.
Paris to Avignon is 2h45 on the TGV.
Give yourself an hour to transfer from Paris Montparnasse to Paris Lyon.

And just to add on to what Kerouac said, that trip does end up taking eight and a half to nine and a half hours depending on the train/station combination.

I would get to Rennes somehow, and then take the direct TGV to Avignon that leaves at 9:10am & arrives at 2:46. No train changes (via Lyon - not Paris).

Can you post the link of the schedule of the regional train/bus that takes you from MSM into Rennes? I cannot find it.
