MONT SAINT MICHELE GUIDED TOUR TICKETS
We will be in Mont Saint Michele on May 16, 2012. Should we get guided tour ttickets in advance on line, or can we buy them when we get to Mont Saint Michele? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

No suggestions but if you haven't been to the official Mont Saint-Michel website you might find some info there:

I've been to Mt-St-Michel many times and have never felt the need for a tour.
There is a simple guide book you can obtain at one of the gazillion shops after you enter the Mont. Most of the tour consists of climbing, climbing, and more climbing. If you possibly can, stay the night at the Mont; things are much quieter and you can see the tide coming in. A walk along the ramparts at night, when everything is lit up is very pretty. |
I don't know why you need a tour, other than the Michelin Green Guide. And it's Michel - no "e." It's LE Mont St-Michel. Masculine. Just read about it; can't imagine why a tour would be necessary.

There isn't that much to talk about the place. I knew the tour guide was not necessary, but tagged along a group for a while to see what she was saying and confirmed that the guide books were right about not needing a guide. Ticket line moved quickly.
