Monserrato apt in Rome

I'd be interested in any candid descriptions of this apartment from someone who stayed there or rented with the agency "Rental in Rome". Convenience of location, furnishings, how well A/C worked, etc

Is this at #17 Via de Monserrato? If so, I stayed there a few weeks ago. Let me know if it's the same and I'll give you a critique.

The rental agency won't give the exact address yet (bad sign?) But here is the link to the listing with photos, that should help you figure out if it is the same place...

Hi Victoria,

Not the same apartment but I remember seeing the fountain in the courtyard as I passed by. I'd book this place, just based on the courtyard and photos. It sounds great.

About the area:

Just a couple of minutes walk from Campo dei Fiori so very convenient for sightseeing. Within 5 minutes you can walk to Via Victor Emanualle to hail a cab. In the Campo is a morning market (household goods, food, cheap clothing) every morning except Sunday I think. There's also lots of restaurants and bars for morning cappucino.

Going the opposite direction from the Campo is a good size Despar supermarket in the next square. Also a newpaper kiosk for the International Herald.

On Via Monserrato (piazza Ricci which is very small) is a good restaurant - Pierluigi. Very friendly and accommodating waitstaff, good food. The breadbasket has wonderful foccacia which we weren't given anywhere else in Italy.

In the same square as the Despar supermarket is a trattoria with good pizza. You can get pizza to take out if you're tired and want a quiet evening.

The only drawback is the street is noisy at night with motorcycles. But if the bedroom is on the courtyard you shouldn't hear the noise. Street noise doesn't bother me and I slept through it. But, many streets in Rome will be noisy at night.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your stay in Rome!

Adrienne

I have stayed in this building ,not in this actual apartment but on the ground floor. There was quite a bit of late-night street noise.I would ask the agent whether or not the bedroom faces the street. If not,it should be fine. You couldn't ask for a finer location,I was very happy here! Buona fortuna((f))
