Monoprix near 33 Rue Archives
 

We will be leaving for Paris in just 3 short weeks. I am again very excited to return for 2 weeks. We will be staying in Brussels first in the Marriott but then have rented a apartment at 33 Rue des Archives. Is anyone familiar with the apartment and the area. Looking for the closest Monoprix , Patisserie ... and a tea shop... Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have my list of street markets which we will work our way to, a different one each day.. but need a monoprix for yogut

Suggest you go to google maps and put in the address and then search nearby for Monoprix. I did it and it came up with several in the vicinity - including street views!

denmal, unless there are two apartments for rent in that building, I have stayed in that flat. If you are renting from Sheila, you'll love it.

The nearest Monoprix is at 95 Boulevard Sébastopol. You should be able to buy Mamie Nova Yaourt Gourmand there, which, after years of exhaustive research, we declared the best yoghurt in France. It is spectacularly fruity, but just don't look at the butterfat content; you are on holiday.

You will find you can buy most supplies you might need on rue Rambuteau, one block north of the apartment. There are a couple of green grocers, a fromagerie, at least one butcher, and a Franprix (very handy for basics such as bottled water) along that street.

I liked the boulangerie that was, I think, about one or perhaps two blocks south of the apartment on rue des Archives. Same side of the street. We also got to know the butcher that was on our side of rue des Archives, just north of #33. He had lamb that was memorable.

We rented an apartment for 3 years very near you and I am a foodie so have lots of opinions about the neighborhood purveyors :) AnselmAdorne is exactly right about all the info. Rambuteau is fine for everyday, but the walk over to
Rue Montorgueil is so great and you get some great shops there. Make sure not to miss Pâtisserie Stohrer, one of the oldest bakeries in Paris:

denmal, I had the pleasure of meeting Sheila and Bruno in February. They are wonderful. I think you will enjoy meeting Roland, too, who is their agent in Paris.

jpie makes a great point about walking over to rue Montorgueil. It is a favourite of ours, and I neglected to mention it in my first post.
