Monet's Gardens in the Fall

We will be arriving in Giverny on Oct 10 and wondering if anyone knows what Monet's gardens are like during this time of year? Are there leaves and foliage still?

I've been to Giverny in the late fall....it was lovely. I think it will depend on the weather...sometimes fall comes a little earlier or later.
The gardens had some color...and some trees were still shades of green. There were fall flowers..chrysanthemums. The weeping willows were yellow...leaves in the ponds...beautiful reflections.
The light was soft yellow...slanted....I loved it!!

We were there last Oct 8th and you can see some pictures here:

It was lovely and had been a warm fall. We saw it a few years ago in late August at its peak and I must admit it was prettier then, but I am not sure you would know that if you never saw it then.

Still we loved it and it was also more crowded in August. Go late in the day and you will soon have the place all to yourself.

It is a special place and we will be back to maybe see it in late spring next time.

Maxers,

We visited that same time a few years ago. The gardens were lovely. I asked how they kept them up and was just a little disillusioned to hear that the flowers are hot house raised and the gardens are replanted seasonally - 4 x a year!
