Hotel Rec in Klagenfurt?
Can anyone recommend a well located hotel in Klagenfurt? Would like something convenient to the old town center. Our budget is up to 130 Euro per night. Thanks.

I realize this is not in the city center - but without responses perhaps you may think about this. If you have an auto and do not mind a short time to city center this just west of the city by the lake Wörthersee - try the Weidenhof - good dining too.
About 100 + euro with breakfast

Hi Betty,
Yes, we've been, but only as a day trip from Seckau...so no hotel recs However, we might be going back, so it would be very helpful to find out where you decide to stay.
(It doesn't help, but here's where we stay in Seckau, one of those beautiful Austrian chocolate box villages well off the beaten path...www.hofwirt.at )

Thank you both. We wouldn't necessarily mind being outside the center, molker, if the place wasn't isolated and it was a short drive into Klagenfurt center.
FoFoBT, I'm always looking for those little "chocolate box" villages that people recommend, even if I don't make it on this trip. Thanks.

Here's an "interesting place in St. Veit:

We didn't stay there, but did spend a day in St. Veit a couple of years ago. I was kinda disappointed, because I remembered the town being more interesting/charming a decade or more ago.
I'm pretty fond of Klagenfurt, but we've never stayed in town because we stay nearer family in Pörtshacht.
