Monastary Lodging

Does anyone know about lodging at monastaries in Rome? Any recommendations?

Hi John,

Pick up 2 books: "Bed & Blessings Italy" and "Lodging IN Italy's Monasteries". We just finished booking our stays in Florence, Rome & Naples, all in Convents/Monasteries!! We did it by the book! While I was in Florence last spring, I met people who stay in convents and went to visit one in Florence. It was absolutely beautiful and quiet & clean, not to mention safe!!
The average price for convent stays is about $30-$40 including breakfast & bath! Check it out!!!

www.romeguide.it look under religious instiutes in the accommodation section. I booked my convent accommodation in June via this site. There are a variety to choose from, some have web sites so that you can view the room, tarriff, and curfew if applicable.

We spoke to one of the sisters who told us to book 6mos in advance! This convent is about 2-3 short blocks from the Post Office. It's listed in the book: Bed & Blessings Italy!
