Moderately priced hotel in Rome for 8 people?

I'll be in Rome from Nov 3-5 with 7 other friends. We are looking for a hotel that either has triple or quad rooms (we plan to book 2 quads or 2 triples and a double). So far we only found one place with quads, Grand Hotel Olympic-Aurum near the Vatican. It has decent reviews on tripadvisor and expedia. We'd like to keep our options open though and thought some of you would have suggestions on a good hotel with quads/triples. No hostels or pensiones though!

We'd ideally like to pay under $200 each for the entire stay (the cost of the rooms will be split between the 8 of us, so $1600 or less total cost for the 2 nights). Also, the hotel should be close to major attractions: Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc. (Close as in, could walk or else take a short bus/cab ride there).

Thanks!

Have you checked www.romeby.com? I just did a search for 8 people/2 rooms on the dates you specified and it came back with several options including apartments.

Check out the Hotel San Carlo. This is their web site:

They are very close to the Spanish Steps, not very far from the Trevi Fountain. They have doubles and quads. They tend to be faster responding to faxes than e-mails, in my experience.

Try the Hotel Isa. We stayed in a quad there a few years ago. Nice small hotel with decent breakfast, probably a 3-star. Located a few blocks from vatican but close enough to walk to all historic sites. Reasonably priced.

Thanks! We checked romeby.com and came up with a list of places to check out. The San Carlo looks good, so far.

Try the Santa Chiara Hotel, its located right behind the Pantheon, and within walking distance of everything to see in the center. They have apartments on the top floors and are reasonably priced. You'll save a fortune in cab fares also.
