Missing Italy perhaps?
Many folk, including myself, are missing Italy. So here is a remedy:
One part of Campari One part of London gin One part of vermouth (Guiseppe B. Carpano Antica Formula if you can get it). Stir together, do not shake with ice. Chill down to about 0deg C, -32F, serve on a big block of ice. You have a Negroni. Let your mind drift, imagine yourself canal-side in Venezia. |
If you don't like gin, swap it out for bourbon or rye and you have a Boulevardier.
|
I love a Negroni and love Limoncello even more, two things I can have to remind me of Italy, my favorite place! 😋

If you feel like you'd like to be in Venice ...

We took some photos of a back-lit bottle of Paduan 'Aperol' on our last trip. Set it on the wooden kitchen table of our rental during sunset. The sunrays shone through the mostly-full bottle, creating a picturesque reddish glow. Shutterbug heaven.
Can never finish a glass of Negroni, last tried in Trani. For some reason, my system finds that drink to be too strong. Yes we are missing Italy and today we reminisced while watching the Cinque-Terre chapter from the fine 'Flying Over Italy' drone presentation (YouTube). Was reminded of the inexperienced, newbie traveller/bank teller whom we once dealt with @ our local mall. We were getting a wire transfer done for an Italian rental, and he suddenly began to get all dreamy, "Oh if only some day I could make it to Sinky-Teer!' It took us a few minutes to realize that he was referring to the Cinque-Terre. Elena, damme un bacio! I am done. The end. |
I am married to Elena, btw.
I am done. The kiss. |
Ah,Sgroppino! What wonderful memories. Yes, I am missing Italy so much and We were there recently, in January!
