Mirror for near-sighted women?

Hi
have any of you found a travel-sized mirror with a stand that you take with you so that you can see to put your eye makeup on while you're traveling? I've seen a couple in catalogs that require batteries for their lights, but that sounds like a large and dheavy item to me. A small purse-size magnifying mirror has to be held in one hand, I'd like something that can stand on its own.
I just can't count on getting close enough to whatever mirrors may be in my hotel room so that I can see what I'm doing.

I own a mirror that is magnifying on one side, plain on the other, with a metal rim around the circle that folds down to form a stand. It's old as whatever, but I am sure they still make them. I would check any K-Mart, WalMart, etc., in the section where they sell hairbrushes, etc. Nothing fancy at all, but it would serve your purpose. I am also nearsighted and usually can get close enough to the mirror, but I understand the problem!

Julie has two. A small one with a folding wire bail stand with magnifying and normal on front and back which we use on car trips, and a smaller (4-5 inch?) for air trips with magnifying only, with a suctioncup on the back to stick on the bathroom or dresser/vanity mirror. Both from Wal-Marts as I recall.

twenj

Glad to know Wal-Mart isn't everywhere (yet).

I have a on a pivot base. One side normal the other magnified. I think I bought it at Eckard's when I was a teen-ager (a pre Wal-Mart era).

I just purchased a Conair "Lighted Travel Makeup Mirror". It operates on 3 "C" batteries (not heavy at all), is two sided (one side is 3x magnification)has an adjustable stand and folds flat for travel or storage. I love it! I purchased it at Target for $14.00
Hope this helps.
