Mini report and pictures of 2 wonderful weeks in Venice, Salzburg, Prague
I've been back for a month and finally finished going through my thousands of pictures of Venice, Salzburg and Prague and have them posted up on my website: http://lynnsview.com/Gallery/
I'll add more later but here are the basics:
I flew to Venice and stayed at the same hotel I've stayed at before in Castello, I love this hotel because it's easy to find and it is in a real neighborhood, yet still just 10 minute walk at the most to San Marcos, Hotel Ca' Formenta http://www.hotelcaformenta.it I was there from Sunday, 9/6 through Thursday, 9/10
Then by train, I went to Salzburg, Austria...going through the Dolomites was amazing. I stayed at Alstadt Hotel Weisse Taube, great location near Mozart Platz, I would definitely return http://www.weissetaube.at I was there from Thursday, 9/10 to Monday, 9/14
Then another train ride took me to Prague. Wow, what a great city, I stayed at the Hotel Rezidence Lundborg, http://www.lundborg.se it's right next to the Charles Bridge. It's really more a small apartment with a separate bedroom, 2 burner stove, a computer with large monitor with internet access is provided in the room at no extra charge. Highly recommend it! I was there from Monday, 9/14 and return home on Saturday, 9/19
On my website with my pictures, I put comments on most pictures so it's almost a mini trip report in itself. But I'll come back and give some information on what I did and my impressions for anyone who might be considering going to these cities. I know that trip reports have helped me in the past.
Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures.
Lynn

Your pictures are STUNNING!! You are a wonderful photographer! The photo journal is a great way to post and so interesting. Were you staying on the Kampa Island side of the Charles Bridge?? We stayed at the Hotel Kampa Garden for 6 days in 2007 and thought the location was perfect!
If I go back, I want to go with you! Also loved Venice and Salzburg!
Thanks for the memories!

thank you very much everyone....now that I've been back for over a month and I look at the pictures, it sometimes feel like it was just a dream...thank goodness for pictures.
I truly recommend Prague and Venice, well.... I don't think I'll ever get enough, as I say in my pictures, it is the 'love of my life'

lyb,
I love your photos. You are an excellent photographer, great eye for composition. We were in Prague in 2003 & this past August. What camera do you use? Your evening photos came out better than my husband's photos. We never made it up to Petrin Hill - guess we'll have to go back. If you return, you must go to Vysehrad.
Thanks for the memories!

Kwoo,
I have a Fuji FinePix S100, I got it only about 3 weeks before I left on vacation, so I had a lot of learning. I did use a tripod for some of the night shots, but even without it, some of them came out pretty sharp.
Unfortunately, when I went to Petrin Hill, it was the one day that it was overcast and rained a bit, so the view from up above wasn't as good, but I'm still I went.
I didn't get to the Loreto which I wanted to go to, good reason to go back
Where is Vysehrad?

Nice pictures, lyb! Can you help me out by identifying the palazzi featured in this one: Besides the fanfare on the Grand Canal... and in the one of Francesco da Mosto, which you said is by Rio San Toma - but could you be more precise?

Jean,
The manhole covers were so good, how can we pass them up?
Traveler,
I found both Salzburg & Prague very easy as a single traveler.
I'll be filling in the details this weekend, but in the meantime, do keep on planning, they are definitely places to go!
