Milos, Sifnos & Santorini
 

I would appreciate recomendations for some casual restaurants serving local cuisine in Milos, Sifnos & Santorini. The restaurants can be tavernas on the beach, in town, or wherever the locals would have a nice meal that is affordable. A decent view would be a plus but not necessary.

Santorini: Neptune, Katina's and Santorini Mou in Oia. Imerovigli Taverna in Imerovigli.

Sifnos: , Kamares. In the port, Kamares, the first restaurant you come to, Poseidonas, has terrific food. Great view of mountains!Argyris' Taverna on waterfront, Agia Marina side of
Ouzeri 'Margarita' in village square, Artemonas. (Not just an ouzeri, she has huge range of delicious home cooked food.)'Oceanida' almost in the water at beach village, Vathy.

What happened? I was editing my post and it suddenly disappeared!! Sorry, but you get the idea: Sifnos: the port,Kamares - I recommend 2 tavernas, one on Agia Marina side of harbour. After that I think I got it right. All these places are popular with locals. Try browsing this site: www.igogreece.com. Lots of personal recommendations for places to eat on the islands you mention.

In Sifnos, the Liotrivi taverna in the plateia of Artemonas is one of the best traditional tavernas in the Cyclades. So is To Astero in Kastro, a simple-looking place with stellar food. Leonidas in Kastro is also reputed to be good, but I haven't eaten there.

For local cuisine in Milos, the best one is probably Alevromylos in Parasporos, 3km from the Adamas village center. Try also Tarantella in Provatas/Agios Sostis, O Hamos in Papikinou beach and Medousa in Mandrakia.

A good rule of thumb is to select establishments bearing the coveted "Milos is for Lovers RECOMMENDED" sign as a distinction of food quality and decent service.
