What are the chances I could find either rice milk or soy milk in Europe? Have developed an allergy to regular milk and really looking forward to the hot chocolate.

You can also find them in Health food shops (called Bioladen) in Germany.

In fact, I was quite surprised myself to see new shelves of soy milk popping up in my local Franprix (run-of-the mill Paris supermarket, more or less like 7-11). Between Franprix and Monoprix, there are dozens of branches throughout Paris, so you won't have a problem. In the provinces, head to the big hypermarkets you'll see on gasoline alleys. A co-worker of mine's baby is also allergic to milk and she (the mother) doesn't seem to travel miles to find soy milk (BTW, in French : "lait de soja"). Anyway, you'll find it in any pharmacy (more expensive).

The ready availability of soy milk does not necessarily mean that you'll be ableto find a place that sells soy hot chocolate, if that's your goal (the last sentence in your post suggests it is). The grocery store near me (here in DC) sells at least a dozen varieties of milk alternatives, and none of them are available in the lattes said store's coffee bar sells. Don't know that it will be different in Europe.
