Milan Train Stations
I will be in Novara November 15 and would like to go to Milan from there. Trenitalia has IC and IR trains that go to Milan Centrale. There is also a Suburbano train that goes to Milano Porta Venezia and takes longer. Does anyone know what the Suburbano train is and where is Milano Porta Venezia station?

Timetables from Novara to Milano-Porta Venezia (train S6) at this website:
http://www.trasporti.regione.lombardia.it then click (bottom left under aree tematiche) on Servizio Ferroviario, then click on Linee S in the list down in the center, then click on S6 Novara-Magenta-Mi Pta Vittoria.
You get a listing of all stations on the line, and a notice to say that there is a train every 30 minutes from 6AM to 12:30AM.
The map shows the correspondences available at each station, for example at P.ta Venezia you can transfer to the S1, S2, S10, 85 (bus?), and to the red M line (subway).

According to my research, Porta Venezia is a subway station on the Red Line. Then why when I check on: www.trenitalia.com
for the train schedule, there is a Suburbano train to Porta Venezia. It doesn't mention that from the Station Vittoria, you have to connect a bus and then a subway. Could it be that the train ticket include the transfers for the bus and the subway all the way to Porta Venezia?

You can probably get an authoritative answer by posting your question on the Slow Travel message board. There is a woman who regularly posts there who lives in Milano and often writes for the site about train and transportation issues in Milano (and elsewhere).
