Milan train station
 

Are there two terminals for the Milan Train Station? I have read one is Milan Centrale and the other Garibaldi - it this true? Traveling on a train from Bologna to Milan, and want to get to Linate aeroporto. Want the closest stop on route to get the shuttle to Linate.

If you were carrying luggage would you travel 1st or 2nd class on Trenitalia? How much difference is there between Trenitalia and RailEurope? Trenitalia seems a bit cheaper. Want to take the Eurostar because it is half the time.

You are speaking of two DIFFERENT stations.

Milano Centrale is the "main" station and not to be confused with other, SEPARATELY-LOCATED (geographically) stations such as Garibaldi, Cadorna, etc.

BTW..Trenitalia is the name for the Italian State Railway company.

RailEurope is a marketing arm for North Amercia and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of a consortium fo the French and Swiess national railway companies.

RailEurope often charges a mark-up for point to point tickets and definitely adds a mark-up to seat reservation charges.

If you review the train schedules online, the site will tell you if the train is Eurostar (ES). I would recommend going through Trenitalia.

I don't think you will have a choice of stations from Bologna to Milan other than Centrale. The fast trains don't make stops which is one of the reasons they are fast. The slow trains on this route will mostly stop before Milan, but not make multiple stops in Milan.

OK, so I take the fast train (1 hour) from Bologna to Milan. Next getting from Milano Centale to Linate. I understand there have been some rennovations at the terminal and the shuttles to Linate are no longer "cued" where they used to be, (to the left on exiting the station). Does anyone know where the shuttles are now located? What is the Name of the company that shuttles, color of bus etc. I need some visual aides here.
I understand they run every 30 min, and take 25-30 minutes travel time due to traffic, even though its only about 7-8 miles. See, I do pay attention!!

The fastest train is the AV which will sometimes be listed as AV/ES.

I've never been to Linate, but I understand there is a city bus also besides the shuttle. You can always take a taxi if you have a time crunch. It's not as far to Linate as Malpensa. Always check the airport website to find these things:
