Milan to Venice
Hello all!! My boyfriend and I are leaving for europe in September and arrive in Milan the 18th at 8:15am. We want to get to venice as quicly as possible. Any suggestions on the best way for us to do this? We will be renting a car once in venice and travelling the rest of the way like that!
Thank you so much! :) |
The train from Milan to Venice is about 3 to 3-1/2 hours. They run all the time.
I'm assuming you'll rent a car *after* you have spent time in Venice, for the rest of your trip? Since there are no cars in Venice, I mean. |
Flying is the fastest way. There's a Alitalia flight 9:50am - 10:50am.

I agree with Suze's suggestion. We took the train from Milan to Venice and it was quite pleasant and relatively quick.
If you're already going to be at the airport and could catch a connecting flight (as rkkwan suggested), that could work, too, though I've never done it. If you're already going to be in Milan town, it will take you maybe an hour to get to the airport, so you don't actually gain much time that way. |
Where do you arrive in Milan? Malpensa? Linate? Centrale? Your best choice depends on this answer.
Best wishes, Rex |
I'd assume the OP is arriving by plane from the US - and therefore at MXP. The 9:50 flight I found is MXP-VCE. I mentioned it because the OP specifically says they want to get to Venice ASAP.

Sorry, I do agree, if they are arriving the Milan airport and want the quickest way to Venice, another flight would be the way to do it.

The first time I arrived in Milan by air, it was into Linate - - having connected from Frankfurt.
