Milan - TO DO things in 1day

Hello friends,

Quite an unusual place to visit in italy, right?
I have not seen a single post on Milan here or may be i did not searched enough.
Now i am taking flight out of Milan and have 1 day to explore fashion city.
Please suggest what to see and what not to see.

Cheers

Hi Jaimikins,

I would really like to thank you for last minute suggestion to visit Last Supper. No online tickets were available but I reserved by calling call center (suggestion from one of the site).

Hope you are having good trip in Italy at present.

Cheers

caabhi, at the Duomo, look for the elevator that takes you to the roof where you can get an up-close examination of the building's construction and great views of the city.

There are some very nice, smaller museums in the Sforza Castle complex, including one displaying Michelangelo's last sculpture and another with a gallery room designed and frescoed by da Vinci.

If you're interested in opera, there is a small museum inside La Scala. The entry ticket allows you to view the interior of the theater from one of the boxes (as long as rehearsals are not underway).

The Last Supper..you are only allowed to be inside for 15 minutes,, but it is worth seeing.. there are other small churches /museums nearby

you can walk from the Sforza castle to the duomo.. mostly pedestrian streets too

buy a ticket to the roof ..take the elevator and explore the architecture and the views.

there are art galleries in the Brera area and pedestrian streets and you can also take in the Pinacoteca di Brera a small but important art museum in Milan

Four questions to suggest a perfect day

1. Do you have a full day without worrying about retrieving your luggage?
2. What time is your Cenacolo (Last Supper) visit?
3. Do you have any special interests? Fashion, food, architecture etc
4. What time of the year?

For an "off the beaten path" itinerary in Renaissance churches (and for my favourite adresses for "aperitivi") you can have a look at my travel blog www.deligthfullyitaly.com.

The classical highlights (last supper, duomo roof, etc, are ok and have already been mentoned in previous posts.

Enjoy!
