Milan Restraurants
Recommendations solicited for restaurants in Milan. Prefer eating outside if available. Many thanks

Alice Twain, where are you? You can't be at the dentist... That was your reason last time...
|
I'm not too familiar with traditional restaurants, but definately plan to stop by Peck, which is a fabulous gourmet deli with lots of choices for take-away (romantic picnic?).
I'm not sure whether or not you can eat on site, but their restaurant is just down the street. Right downtown, so worth a look even if just to window shop and build your appetite before lunch! |
Oops - www.peck.it.

I am here, but I do not answer to messages, such as this, that seem to imply that the anser is due. A bit of manners is welcome, thank you.

The restaurant at 10 Corso Como (great shop) looked wonderful; outside and inside. Didn't eat there, but will definitely do so next time. And in the main shopping area, you can eat outside and watch people at Salumaio di Montenapoleone, at via Montenapoleone. Great for lunch.
|
I have had something to eat there once. Didn't eat for the next two days due to food poisoning. It is just one of the too many places around milano with looks enhanced by the lack of real illumination and serving horrible food. First rule about eating in Milano: never eat at a place with lights that do not illuminate the floor so that you can't see the corner (where probably coakroaches are running). I am not joking!!!

Yikes what has Alice's panties in a knot! The guy offered his many thanks. Is an anonymous stranger really obligated to offer more than that?
|
How about a more decent phrasing of his request? The thanks are there looking something he added because he knew he had! After almost ten years on the web I am quite tired of people thinking they are entitled to the others courtesy!
|
The person is asking a restaurant question for heaven's sake. I don't think they have to get down on their knees for an answer. "Many thanks" seems genuine enough to me. rbon, I wish I had an answer for you, but I hope someone who isn't quite so pompous as the one who thinks you should genuflect in their direction can lead you to a good restaurant.
|
No need to genuflect, all I ask is a little manners. rbon didn't show any. That's all. He might have saved that too perfunctorly "may thanks" had he just laid out a decent phrase, such as "I am going to Milano and I would like some suggestions on where to have dinner. I would like to have dinner outside, if possible". Nobody here is an answering machine.

I'd go to Terza Carbonia in Via della Schippione tel. 02/ 2953 1704. Have a taxi take you there and have your hotel reserve saying that you want to eat in the garden (giardino). Very good food, informal but nice restaurant where I spend a lot of my time. Ciao, Melissa
