Milan restaurants recommendations?

Does anyone have ideas about good restaurants in Milan? Don't mind the price range, as long as we can eat really well, in nice surroundings. We will go to Bice, which I have been to before. Thinking about Cracco-Peck; is it really that good or overpriced/touristy (as some reviews suggest).

Had two fine dinners in Milan last November. One at Nabucco, seemingly frequented by local high loaders. The other at Baccodivino where you ate and drank what was brought to you. Really good stuff and the last wine was a Brunello. I would think they both have websites.

Thank you; I will check those out.

Have a few times a few years back used the Ristorante Da Bruno, via Gonzagna,6. It is not a fancy ristorante but does have excellant Tuscan food, it is located about twoblocks south of the Duomo near the Pza Diaz... Richard of LaGrange Park, Il.

We ate at Nabucco about two years ago and had an excellent meal.

Here's the URL (Italian only) of the oldest restaurant in Milan - called "Boeucc", which is pronounced like "butch" and means hole in old Milanese.

We had one of the finest meals we have ever eaten in Italy there, and if price doesn't matter, I highly recommend it. It's right in the center of town, near la Scala.

Here's another URL - of a site describing the best restaurants in Milan.

Boeucc, thank you sssteve for the name of this wonderful restaurant. I have eaten there several time, although it has been some years since my last visit. Because I got rid of lots of papers (before I discovered Fodors) I lost the name of this restaurant and could not remember it but knew I would recognize the name if I saw it.

Tulips, I always had fantastic food at Boeucc, and it sounds like it is still wonderful. The surrondings, the atmosphere is beautiful also. If you go there I hope you will post here regarding your experience. Best wishes, and have a wonderful trip.

Thank you. We will try Boeucc. We're staying at Spadari al Duomo, so it should be nearby. Also going to see the Last Supper, plus some shopping of course. Really looking forward to it.

sssteve; thank you for that link. They mention Shambala, which I went to about two years ago. Long taxi ride, beautifull restaurant, but the food was not very good.

Enjoy the visit, Tulips!

When are you going?

I, too, recommend Nabucco. Another restaurant which I enjoyed is Ristorante DA BERTI or "Thieves Inn"; however, it is not in central Milan but within walking distance of Hilton Hotel near Central Train Station. The restaurant is on Via Algarotti and they serve the best Osso Bucco I have ever eaten!!

We liked the Torretta di Pisa (I think it was called) in Brera- two minutes walk from the Academy
