milan or florence?
i am debating between going to milan or florence? if any one has any ideas please post.

Milan is great for a day. If you can get tickets to see The Last Supper, that was the highlight of my last trip to Italy. The Duomo and the Galleria are also very interesting sites.
But for a longer stay, I'd definitely choose Florence. Read Bruneschelli's Dome before you go ... and climb up the dome of the cathedral. It's an amazing experience after reading the book. |
I must admit I've never heard of someone struggling with this question. Unless you're trying to start a modeling career, there's much more to see and do in Florence. I actually enjoyed shopping the sales in Milan, but a lot of people dislike this city.

My mother looks over my shoulder now and then and says "Isn't anyone asking about Milano?"
|
That is precious TravMimi..tell your mother I completely understand!
Hi lahdans, I am assuming that this would be your first trip to either Milan or Florence. I have no idea how many nights you will have but if you could work in at least one night and day in Milan I would do so. But if time is short I would guess Florence would be the city to go to but it is hard to answer not having any idea of what your interests are. |
more details...how many days you plan to spend?
Milan will be good for short stay..also you can go to Zematt (skiing....)from Milan...on now I am digressing Florence would take more days as I suppose you can cover Tuscany region and Pisa from there |
