Milan - Nice last minute flight help?
 

Does anyone know where to check for last minute deals on flights from Milan - Nice?

We were going to take the train after our arrival from the US to Milan, but with arrival at 6am and train departure at 11am, then a 5+ hour train ride to Nice, some here have recommended flying (we have not purchased train tickets yet, as was waiting to do direct at station)

The flights of course will be somewhat more expensive (ok), but those that I am finding are not direct, and with layovers don't seem to save much time. We have planned arrival in Malpensa 6am, direct (thello) train to Nice departs 11:00am and arrives approx 16:45.

Would willing to pay more for flights that would shave some time from the long journey.

One thing to keep in mind, when searching and when considering this; low cost airlines often leave from airports other than main one in city (Linate or Bergsmo). Not sure about if this is true for Milan, but you may have to search using those other cities. Nice is likely to have theses low cost airlines, but consider Montpellier and
Marseille as possible other destinations.

Thello arrives at Nice at 15.51, the previous train (MXP dp 7.43) at 14.30.
If you fly to Marseille (234 EUR/pax) and go on by train, you arrive at Nice at 15.06.
