Does anyone know the cost to take a taxi from Malpensa airport to the

The public transport is very good and not expensive. You can take the train or bus till Cadorna train station , which is very centrally located. Then, if needed, take a taxi for a short ride.

Official taxi price is eur 90 (from MXP to any street in the Milano municipality). Some companies offer transfers for eur 80, but a car is bound to be expensive anyway as the airport is very distant from the city.

I never seem to pay less than $120-$150 (with tip), and I've only done it for work when someone else is paying for it. I'm a big fan of being treated like a queen, but I'm no fan of throwing my own money out the window, especially when the low-cost option works so well.

I don't know anyone who doesn't use the Malpensa Express to get to the city center, and I'm talking about my local friends in fashion. Even in the dreaded heat of summer, the ME has great AC, and it's a comfortable, very cheap ride to the city center.

To clarify the above: there are now two train options, the express to Milano Centrale and the train to the much smaller Cadorna station. The journey to either station takes just over 30 minutes.

Both avoid the risk of motorway/ downtown traffic jams, to which the airport buses (and taxis) may be prey.

The shuttle bus is 10€. The train is also 10€. Taxis are a set fee of 90€ (additional surcharges are not allowed).

I assume you mean the Westin Palace in Piazza della Repubblica. It is relatively close to Milano Centrale, still too long a walk if you have luggage. The easy way would be taking a taxi from Centrale for the very short stretch to piazza della Repubblica. The cheap way is Malpensa Express to Milano Bovisa, a periferic station in the middle of nowhere, where you would switch to an S (suburban) train on the Passante (an underground railway line). There is a Passante railway station just under Piazza della Repubblica.

[Another option would be a metro ride from Centrale to Repubblica. Easy and cheap but not adviced if you have large luggage.]
