Milan Hotels and getting to Linate Airport

We'll be in Milan for just one night, flying out the next afternoon from Linate. Any ideas for hotels? Stayed at the London about 6 years ago and had to move because of fleas. Has anyone stayed recently? How do you get from Milan to Linate? How long does it take? Thanks.

Hi. My husband just stayed in Milan at Hotel Spadari (spadarihotel.com). He loved it! It is right in the historical centre of town close to the duomo. It is a short (10 minute I believe) taxi ride to Linate. Ofcourse we made the mistake of thinking it was a short taxi ride to Malpensa and it took 1 hour and many euros!!! Have fun!!

Last fall on the Fodorites trip, we used a very good-value airport bus from Linate to Milano Centrale (train station).

I think that we stayed at Piacenza on a trip 2 years ago - - but I will have to do some checking on that name. Found it on www.venere.com and it was on the street of the same name (if I have the name right).

Best wishes,

Rex
My husband and I stayed at the Antica Locanda dei Mercante in May, we took a taxi from the hotel to Linate. We left during the morning rush hour and it took us close to 30 minutes to get to Linate, but the fare was still less than 20 Euro.
