Anyone have solid suggestions on accommodation in Milan? Looking to spend under $200 USD.

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Regina? I think it's supposed to be quite nice.
I have sent family and friends to the Demidoff Hotel which is a nice, clean, friendly place. 39-02-295-138-89. It is right near the metro (which is easy to use and very convient), right off the biggest shopping street, and very safe. Last time I sent someone there it was 125$ Breakfast included.
Now if you want something more trendy/cool. Go to the Sheraton Diana which has a very cool bar/ garden area. That is expensive.
Hotel Tocq on Expedia is another cool one under 200. Just remember to stay near/or in the center and NOT near the train station.

Melissa, why not near the train station?

I stayed at the Windsor Hotel last year. It was under $100/night and pretty nice. (clean rooms, friendly staff) Just look up some guidebooks at Barns and Noble, go the hotels websites, check out the rooms there and then e-mail the hotel directly and ask for their best deal.

The train station is...
A) Fine for travelling, but not a place to hang out at night.
B) The home to our less fourtunate immigrants.
C) Out of the way from the center (about 2km), where you can easily get around on foot.
Of course the metro goes to the Central Station, but I personally wouldn't want to stay there. Lots of better places to go.
Ciao, Melissa
