Milan Hotel Recommendations, please
We will be in Milan 2 nights. Our 1st time. Can you recommend 3 star hotels that are near the center of things? Thanks so much.
|
I found Hotel Cavalieri a very nice hotel with a rooftop trerrace and restaurnant for nice view but it's 4*
www.hoteldeicavalieri.com/ Near Missori Subway station but olny 5 minutes walk to Duomo. 3* hotels I know are Aosta (Gruppo Minihotel) and Augustus. There were fine and prices were right for me but both are near the station. I would prefer staying near historical area (Duomo, etc). |
Actually, I meant to ask for recommendations for a 4 star hotel in Milan. Please keep the suggestions coming.

Hi synergysol!
If you are looking for a 4 star hotel in Milan I suggest you Hotel Astoria http://www.astoriahotelmilano.com/ It's easily reachable from the MM1 Metro station. |
I enjoyed my stay at Melia Milano, conveniently located near the Cadorna station. Very nice 4 star with good rates.
The UNA chain also has some nice hotels in Milan. I've stayed at the Cusani twice and enjoyed it. My best value was Le Meridien which I won (twice) on Priceline for under 150 USD with taxes. |
We really liked the Spadari Al Duomo, a four star very close to the Duomo:

Last week I've been to Astoria Hotel in Milan! I am a business traveler and I must say that I have stayed really good. Rooms are comfortable, the staff are friendly and professional. The hotel is near the fair area and is well served by public transport. recommended. :) ps. and thanx to antony, good advice!

I know it's too late to answer your question, but maybe could be helpful for someone else! :-)
Absolutely http://www.hotelstar.it/ ! Excellent value for money: location, equippement, service. Located in a quiet area just 5 minutes walk from the Duomo and La Scala Theater. Plenty of shops and restaurants within a walking distance. I found my room small, but very comfortable. Moreover breakfast buffet was very good! |
Thanks, I'm looking for some Milan suggestions. Keep em coming.

crusty, this thread was started more than 4 years ago, and things can change in that span of time. I would start a new thread and ask for recommendations in your rate range (and state what that is). The number of stars relates to the number and type of amenities offered without regard to the quality, luxury, charm, location, etc., of the accommodations. Visualize a bureaucrat walking through a hotel with a measuring tape and a clipboard, checking things off a list and then adding them up.
|
jean, last time I checked Duomo and La Scala are still located in the same spots. Many, if not all of the recommended hotels.
|
Not sure what you're trying to say, but a 4-star hotel is not necessarily "nicer" than a 3-star hotel or closer to the main sights. You may pay a higher rate at a 4-star for amenities that you may not need, like guest parking, on-site gym, business center, etc.
"Things can change in 4 years..." Like hotel ownership or management, and no updates or renovations to decor. Like other hotels in the area now getting much better reviews, or new hotel discoveries. |
Antica Locanda Leonardo is charming and located near "The Last Supper" and Cadorna train station. Tram out front. Quiet inner courtyard setting. I don't know whether it's 4 stars but we all were very pleased with our stay there.
