I really like the Hotel Manzoni It's tucked into a small sidestreet but w/in walking distance of the best attractions. Classy safe well run Awesome breakfast came with price

I am also going to Milan Italy (in August) is the Hotel Manzoni near the airport?

I was in Milan in November and stayed at the Hotel Speronari near the Duomo. It was a very clean and inexpensive hotel in a great location. <BR>If you want any more info email me. <BR>Tracey

We stayed at Antica Locanda dei Mercanti for one night on our arrival in Milano last June. It's a small, family-owned and -managed hotel that is fairly difficult to locate. I would advise that the first trip to the hotel be by taxi. We went out for dinner and had to ask the hotel location from a man on the street since the ironwork gates were closed on our return and there is no sign on the street side of the hotel's exterior. The lift starts on the second floor. <BR> <BR>All that having been said, we found the hotel a delightful place to stay for a night. We arrived at about 9 am and the hotel put aside our bags and watched them, later moving them into our room when it was ready. Although our room was of very modest size and had no air-conditioning, it had a large ceiling fan that seemed to cover about fifty percent of the ceiling and it was very effective in relieving us in the 85 degree F Milano weather. <BR> <BR>The hotel is a reasonably short walk from the Duomo, the Galleria and La Scala.

TO DENISE I think we paid $150 A tad high but well worth it. I think it took about a 10 minute and $15 cab ride from the train station. We were so happy there. <BR>As far as access to the airport We took a cab $10 to Station North and from there it was a 20 min ride right to the airport. <BR>BTW&lt; if you appreciate fashion The Hotel Manzoni is close to some of the most incredible stores in my experience. Also, it is a short walk to La Scala the Duomo anf the Galleria area <BR> <BR>

We stayed at the Gran Duca di York in Milan several years ago. It was ideally located not far from the Duomo on a relatively quiet street. The rate was very reasonable and it was comfortable. We took a bus from the airport to the train station and took a cab ride to the hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Milan. Very nice!!

We stayed at the Jolly Turing Hotel in Milan - about 10 minute cab ride from the train station. It was exceptionally nice and I would stay at that chain of hotels again anytime.

Ann, we just stayed at the Hotel Windsor on May 15. It's a very attractive 4-star hotel in a lovely area, has a nice bar/lounge, a restaurant and all amenities. Our rooms were large with king-size beds, and very importantly, sound-proof windows! Very nice bathrooms, also. One of our rooms even had a large balcony. We took a taxi there from train station, less than a mile, L10,000 for 4 with luggage, took just 5 minutes. It's midway between the train station and the Duomo. After settling in we took taxi to Duomo for the evening. Very quick and easy. We booked it for $108 a night per room through Abouthotel.com, which was a rate I was afraid might be "to good to be true". But I just showed them my check-in voucher and had no problem. I liked it a lot better for comfort than some of the old hotels we saw in the Duomo area - some don't even have elevators. Since it was our last night in Italy before flying home, we wanted COMFORT! I highly recommend it. Joyce
