Milan hotel near conference center
 

I will be attending a meeting held at the Milan conference center (Lotto subway stop) and would greatly appreciate hotel advice. My husband will be coming with me. I have booked a hotel near the central train station, but cannot figure out how long it would take to get to the conference center from there. I do know I need to take one subway line, then transfer, but I can't figure out how long it would take. Can anyone tell me?

If the central train station is more than about 30 minutes from the hotel by subway, does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel closer to the conference center, either by subway or by walking? My ideal time to get to the conference center from the hotel would be 20 minutes or less; anything above 30 minutes is less desirable. Another requirement is that the hotel be close to a subway stop. I have spent a LOT of time online reading about various hotels, but can't find one that seems both reasonably priced and nice. I would like to spend less than 175 euros per night, if possible. The Hotel Melia looks like a good fit for my needs, but over my budget.

There are some hotels by the Cadorna train station which is closer by metro (same line so you wouldn't have to change). Cadorna also has trains to the airport if that matter to you. If you have Marriott points, the Marriott Milan is at the Wagner stop.

Thank you for the suggestions-I will check those out.I would like to spend less than 175 Euros per night-closer to 125 Euros would be ideal, but I could go higher for a convenient, comfortable, quiet hotel.

Thank you so much! I have found that website to be very confusing, but it looks like to go from the central station to the Cadorna stop will take about 25 minutes, then another 20 minutes from Cadorna to Lotto. Does that seem about right?

Antica Locanda Leonardo is near the Cadorna station, a wonderful small hotel.

I took the green line (M2) to Cadorna. I don't remember it taking very long, but the website says 20 minutes when I select Centrale M2 and Cadorna M2.

If you do stay at the Cadorna area, the Castello Sforzesco is a short block away.

The Duomo is not too long of a walk from Cadorna either (or you can metro).

FYI - You are supposed to buy a ticket for your luggage, but I'm not sure anyone ever does.
