Milan-Domodossola-Brig-Bern train views

We will be taking the train from Milan through Domodollola and Brig to Bern. I recall reading somewhere how to catch the best views on this ride, but cannot find it in my notes. Can someone with experience suggest which side of the train to sit on?

It really will not matter--it will be spectacular on both sides. However, the tunnel from Goppenstein to Kandestag will be pitch black. Have fun !

In general I agree with Bob.

But, in particular I'd say: for the first leg Milan-Stresa take seats to the right (Lake Maggiore), for the ascent after passing Brig take seats to the left (Rhone valley views), then for the last leg after passing the Loetschberg tunnel the right side is better (mountain views).

Would not be my pleasure to hop from one side to the other, though ...

Ingo

Thanks for the advice. Since we will be returning on the same route, we will try to experience both sides.
