Thanks to everyone for the responses.
Patrick, I'm with you; I am not with whole not driving in any country where I am not a citizen or don't speak the language rule. In fact, this entire trip is a driving trip; picking up a new car and driving through 4 or 5 countries where I am neither a citizen nor speak the language (well I do speak some French).
I am a " big city guy", and depending on how much time I have in Bellagio, and how it is going there, maybe I'll pop into Milan, and maybe I won't. But if I do, thanks to everyone for the great advice.

I would definately say do a day trip into Milan--but take the train. Be careful of which stop you off as there are 2 main train stations in Milan. Aside from the aforementioned Duomo, Peck and Galleria, try to get a reservation to see the Last Supper (it is difficult to just pop in without one). Also I enjoyed the Castello as well as the walk up to it past all the shoppes.
