Seeking solid, good, budget or mid-range hotel in Milan, convenient to sights and transportation. Any recommendations for two Americans who are distressed by the falling dollar?

... and how is the Best Western Cristoforo Colombo vs. the Hotel Lancaster?

Hello LilRicky, although I have spent a lot of time in Milan I am not familar with the hotels you mention. And no doubt neither are other Fodorite's as Milan is not where most travellers visit although a lot that do love Milan. I sure do!

Anyway, may I suggest that you go to www.tripadvisor.com and check out the hotels that you are interested in on that websites. No doubt you will read reviews which will help you make a decision.
