Milan, Amalfi, Rome spots for a little glamour

Help, please. I've hit a snag while helping my old friend's daughter plan her trip to Italy. These two single ladies are 40, both work in high end fashion retail, like to dine and drink in special spots.

This is so not me and I can't think of any place I've actually been that can serve their desires.
We don't drink and we don't go formal or expensive if we can help it. In Rome, we have our favorites but they are certainly mid to low priced places.

If anyone has a suggestion, I would love to hear it. I've knew this young woman before she was even thought of and I'm doing my best to help her. Thanks.

We've tried some uncommonly ritzy places (for us) in Milano and have never been disappointed (except for we felt out of place a couple of times)

Here are a few I remember: Dry, Bar Basso, La Pescateria, Un Posto a Milano, Cantina Isola....and then there is always Peck, a food(ie) store, which never fails to amaze.

St Cirq, this is exactly what they wanted. Thank you very much.

I have to admit that I was surprised by your title, tuscanlifeedit -- I didn't expect to see you looking specifically for glamour! (I can readily imagine that you enjoy a touch of it now and again, but still....) NOW I understand! ;-)

You might look into options for lunch or drinks or whatever at the Villa Cimbrone in Ravello. I only walked the gardens, and oooh, that is one beautiful place!

Good luck!

Not Amalfi, but in Positano, Le Serenuse. In particular, their Michelin-starred restaurant.

kja, you must know me; I would never. But I'm passing these on to the girls. One of them is celebrating her 40th birthday, and although I've helped them plan every part of their trip, I sure can't tell them about these things!

Thank you all. I am passing these tips on and I hope they enjoy them.

Do they need hotels??

In Rome they should go for drinks at the bar at JK PLACE. That hotel also has one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten.
