Milan
We are thinking of spending 2 nights in Milan in October as part of a trip around italy.
What would be good to see or do whilst we were there? Thanks |
I loved walking on the roof of the cathedral.
I also thought the Northern Italians were some of the best looking people I have seen. |
See Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper. Advance reservations very highly recommended. If you enjoy viewing early Christian churches, visit Sant'Ambrogio a few blocks away.
Visit the museum of the La Scala Opera House or attend a performance there. Walk through the nearby Galleria Vittorio Emanuele to or from Piazza Duomo. Visit the art collections in the Castello Sforzesco or the Brera Gallery. Shop. |
Not only are "advance reservations very highly recommended," they're necessary (unless you can get into a group tour that's seeing it). Part of the beauty of the Last Supper is that a small group is let in every 15 minutes. You'll never be part of a crowd, and you'll have a significant amount of face time with one of the classic pieces of western art.

Reservations are sold out until NOVEMBER :-(

Yes, I missed the Last Supper too when I was in Milan in May. That stupid book messed it up for us.
