Mid May Cornwall return - more northerly focus week

We would so appreciate any and all suggestions relative to our return week to Cornwall in a less familiar but previously touched upon northern western quarter. Our seven night drive base will be a self cater in Polzeath, Atmospheric good value pubs and noteworthy unmentioned spots of any kind (indoors or out including anything by way of special food shops, bakeries and markets) along the way are much appreciated. I'm also keen on cooking , so anything in that direction's a bonus. Please note if we're missing unmentioned significant English Heritage or National Trust sites in my preparing. We have active memberships ( as in open admission) for each.

DAY 1 Arrive Kent to Polzeath (Wadebridge) Cornwall 322 miles 5 1/2 hours estimated consensus drive time. We'll be merely passing Stonehenge (done often in the past) on the A303. If there's a good market for our weekly supplies as we get closer along the way, please advise.

Day 2 (All remaining days start and end in Polzeath) Davidstow EH/ Crackington Haven/ Only if Time permits today or otherwise: Bude, its Heritage Center and tomorrow's Liskeard are doubtful questions mark for this trip. (if not enough time, they're out as not necessarily compelling and we're "generally" avoiding larger settings this trip. Please advise re either or both ). Lovely Boscastle can largely be skipped as we'd previously been. Back to new terrain with *Trevalga and Trethevy. These are followed by recently done Tintigal for the Castle only as it was closed last visit. We finish with Port Isaac 51 miles (1 1/2 hour + consensus drive time)

Day 3 Launceston EH Castle (Belventor previously done as with Bodmin Moor largely passing through) / Golitha Falls/ (Trethevy Quoit though near was also already done )/ Liskeard a definite undecided? see above comments for day one: time as with Bude Day One is also at issue. ?/BlislandInn (a redo)/ Bodmin for jail which was was closed last visit 74 mi 2 1/2 hours

Day 4 Wadebridge /Losttwithiel/ Restormel Castle / Lanhydrock House & Church/ St Mabyn 45.3 mi about 2 hours

Day 5 Padstow (Population19,500) - our one of two "possibly definite" urbane settings) /St Eval / Bedruthian Steps /St Merryn. For Wadebridge, we might touch part of this nearby town if time's left today. We also have our "free day" option if it has not yet been fully fit by then. 47.1 mi about 2 hours

Day 6 TRUro our other probable larger setting (Population 8000) RT 63.7mi 1hr 44 saving for last OR Liskeard if not done OR even Bude if not visited? Please advise on our making a "better" choice here.

Day 7 "free" (as in open, local & lightest day) (can loll, or "/"finish/"do" from among Polzeath, Wadebridge, Port Isaac Tintigal. Padstow or whatever. Kindly feel free to suggest ideas.

***There's less travel literature or even web info on this part of England (North of Cornwall) than many other areas, so knowing local feedback is most useful to us in this particular week.

All good things~

Andover is about midway. The market is only on Thursday and Saturday.
But the town has numberious supermarkets in which you can find food produce.

Thanks ribe- We've done much including many villages, towns and sites in south Cornwall a la "majors" over many trips there. More proximate to the northland this trip, we'd over the years already previously taken in as stated Bodmin save the jail, Tintigal save the castle, Chysauster, and Boscastle. My itinerary as presented here concerns targets new to us. Additionally we've a whole week in Devon following Cornwall and have already done it twice before.

I appreciate your helpful transition from Kent tip as a Saturday market along the way sounds ideal for inclusion. Any other ideas directly related to what I've presented in the potential itineraries would be much appreciated.

Thanks ribe- We've done much including many villages, towns and sites in south Cornwall a la "majors" over many trips there. More proximate to the north of Cornwall this trip, we'd over the years already and previously taken in as stated the Peninsula around Bodmin save the town jail, Tintigal save the castle, Boscastle and unmentioned but nonetheless already done Chysauster, and Merry Maidens.

My itinerary as presented here is focused almost exclusively on targets new to us. Additionally we've a whole week in Devon following Cornwall and have already done it ltwice before.
