Recommendations for a Hotel in Paris?

My boyfriend and I are visiting a night and two days to Paris, France traveling by Train from Germany. We are having trouble finding the perfect hotel to stay in Paris that is easily accessbile, convenient location to main attractions in Paris, safe, and somewhat affordable. We are looking not to spend more than $300 a night. We are arriving at Paris EST by train. I have visited Paris once before so I somewhat know the metro system.

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

These threads were extremely helpful to me when I was looking for a hotel. They were started in 2008, but Guenmai has kept them updated periodically.

I ended up choosing the Grand Hotel Saint-Michel for my trip in March, which would fit in your budget. I thought it was a great hotel and was a five-minute walk from two RER stations and a metro station, plus walkable to quite a few things (Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, Jardins du Luxembourg, and I walked to the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay as well).

Check the Esprit de France Group (www.esprit-de-france.com), which includes the Hôtel Parc Saint-Séverin, Hôtel des Saints-Pères and Hôtel d'Orsay. They should all be within you budget.

Hi

In Paris, we always stay at the Hotel Bonaparte, 61 Rue Bonaparte in the 6th. From 130E dbl + bkfst. It is just around the corner from Place St. Sulpice, near 3 metro stops and 4 bus routes. Has AC and an elevator.
Hi RH,

The staff speaks English well, and is very helpful. The front desk is staffed 24/7

Jump to the bottom of the thread and then scroll up to Dec 31,2010. In that section, I have categorized the recommended hotels, by district, and have provided websites.

Happy Travels!

My daughter and I stayed at the Relais Bosquet in May and we loved it. Very nice location and very close to the Ecole Militaire Metro. (http://www.hotel-paris-bosquet.com).

Hi, my husband and I are going to Paris the end of October and have booked an apartment at Marais called the Marais Tresor . We went through the site WaytoStay. Small apartment but only costing 567euros for the week.

We stayed at Hotel Bonaparte in August & loved it. Agree with everything Ira said. Staff were very warm, friendly & helpful. Our room was large by Paris standards, so was the bathroom. I highly recommend it. No complaints. It's also about a 5 - 10 minute walk from Luxembourg Gardens.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay @ Hotel Britannique this past April. About a block from the Chatelet Metro station, one street back from the Seine, one block to Ile de la Cite'.
Probably any of the recommended hotels by the Fodorites will be nice, though.

Thank you for all your recommendations! Hopefully we will find something from this list or through my boyfriend's Marriott connections. Any stayed at Renaissance Arc de Triomphe?
