microfiber blazer
My husband is interested in the microfiber blazers that are wrinkle-free and handwashable. We have seen them in Travelsmith and other catalogues. Does anyone have any experience with them - how they fit and if they really perform as advertised. Thanks.

Hi Kathy,

I don't have any experience with Travelsmith's microfiber products, but I do have a microfiber raincoat that I love. Completely wrinkle-free, comfortable, machine washable, and quick-drying. I hope this helps.

cindy

I haven't ordered a blazer from Travelsmith, but I've purchased a few microfiber items over the counter, and my only comment is - HOT!!! I practically steamed to death in a microfiber jacket one warm spring in France. Maybe Travelsmith stuff is of better quality than what I bought, but thoug I was impressed with the lack of wrinkles, at the end of the day I decided that wrinkles on the clothing would be preferable to wrinkles in my skin from frying inside the jacket.

Thank you for the replies. Does anyone have a suggestion for fabric, etc. for a regular blazer that would travel well?
He has some wool and light-weight wool suits and blazers. Would these be as good as anything else available?

L.L. Bean has a very nice men's microfiber blazer. I bought one for my son for Christmas and have heard no complaints. I think you can find it on their website. They also make them for women, and I plan to buy one too.

I've got the Travelsmith microfiber blazer, and it has worked really well for me--it's certainly less hot than polyester sprotcoats used to be, I like all the pockets, it's lightweight, and most importantly it just looks good no matter how I abuse it. I asked around before getting it, and every guy I met who had one thought the jacket was great for travelling.

Q.P.

Brooks Brothers "Brooksweave" fabric is superb! My husband has traveled with it for more years than most people on this forum have lived!! Cool, doesn't wrinkle and is worth every penny you will pay for it as it lasts for years

I've bought microfiber women's pants and blazer from Travelsmith and will echo the comment about hot. I won't buy microfiber again because of that and because the pants don't hold a crease and begin to look sloppy (at least to me).
