metro tickets in Brussels
Does the metro in Brussels offer a carnet of tickets? Do they include busses? What is the best way to travel within the city of Brussels, using public transportation?
Thank you for your help. Laurie |
I've never spent more than one day in Brussels, but here's some info from this site:

Hi Laurie,
I'm in Chicago at the moment, so I can't post a long reply (will have time to do that Wednesday). The metro tickets for Brussels are quite a good deal financially. Mass transit is overall very satisfactory and the best way to get around (you do NOT want to drive in Brussels!) |
Thank you very much for your replies.
BTilke, We DO NOT plan on driving in Brussels! Thanks for the tip! I read somewhere about a free tram. Do you know anything about this? Also, We are staying at the Renaissance Brussels. We will need to take a taxi around 3:30 AM to the Midi train station to catch the 4:20AM Ryan Air bus to Charleroi. Can we arrange this the night before, at the hotel? How much time should we allow? Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I really appreciate it! I won't expect a reply until later in the week, since you are busy in Chicago now. Laurie |
Laurie,
As far as I know, the tickets are valid on all forms of transport in the city. Although there is a 10-trip card (a little over ?9), I don't remember if the transport system offers carnets. I opted for several day cards instead (under ?4 for each), as I used the system quite often. Hope this helps. |
