Metric conversion by computer
Google knows all about conversion factors. Just type the problem in the box and hit "Search."
$655 in gbp 87km in mi 129l in gal 1.182 eur/l in $/gal Try it! |
Google also knows about books about France/ Italy etc. More information on the Google Help can be found on

I find the google maps very useful as well.

And put "Imperial" before the gallon if you want l converted to "real" gallons.
I guess my slide rule is going on the junk pile. Oh well... |
Thanks very much for posting this, Robes.

55mph in furlongs/fortnight = 147,840

Wow, you mean Google can do simple math? Neat-o ;)
|
I searched for a while to try and get what liters per km was = to for miles per gallon. I picked up an answer in a UK school test website that said you multiply the liter per km by 2.39 to get mpg.
My brain hasn't built the algebraic conversion yet, so I'm accepting this. |
Or you could have typed this into Google:
1l/km in mpg - or - 1l/km in m/imperial g |
Oops. s/b
1 l/km in mi/imperial gal |
