Messina to Taormina
 

We will be in port for one day 7 AM-5PM and looking for ideas of how to travel from Messina to Taormina and what to do once we get there. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

When we were in Messina on a ship 2 years ago we rented a car and went to Toarmina. We joined another couple from the ship and rented a car from one of the agencies on the street across from the pier (Europecar I think). It was easy and we had no reservations. Finding our way wasn't too difficult. We were on a Windstar ship with 100 passengers so if renting is an option I'd suggest advance reservations if it is a large ship. Touamina is a wonderful little town and I'd recommend also going to Castelmola which is a town above Toarmina. The views are spectacular and you can drive to it. Have fun. Bob

Jeno - Taormina trains leave from Messina Centrale - so I'd head there.

This is only a few hundred metres from
the ferry port (- though I'm not sure where the cruise ships dock in relation to the ferries.
