Message for Rex
Rex - I remember a few months ago you posted about panoramic/ artistic narrow strip posters. Are you still looking?
I saw some in Rome just recently - a nice series of Rome 'sights'. Not sure if they are the format you were looking for as I can't find your original post now.
They were about 24" by 4" by a company called Create Panoramic.
(There was a website on the back: www.createpanoramic.com - but unfortunately it's 'under construction' ...)
Let me know if it's what you're looking for ...
Steve

Yes, it sounds very much like what I had in mind. I did subsequently discover, and explore the world of both amateur and professional panoramic photographs - - and it occurred to me that ther are some print your own possibilities, but I found it difficult to make decisions. I suppose it's the same reason that... as is the case with "regular-sized" art/posters of/from travel destinations... I don't tend to buy from the internet or from sources other than "when you're there".
Buying from a catalog is somehow not really the same.
Still, I will e-mail this thread to myself, and file this away. If I stumble across it some months hence, I'll let you know if the "under construction" comes to fruition.
Thanks... and...
Best wishes,
Rex

Since the srarch "engine" gets so maligned, I thought would add that my earlier post CAN be found fairly readily (of course, I recognized its header, since I created it) by simply searching "panoramic".

Since "we" kick the dirt so often over its deficiencies, I decided I ought to acknowldege that it hasn't totally lost functionality yet!

Rex, seeing that this post has got your attention , I was wondering if you could do me a favor.
With WebTv I can't get the complete URL for the threads here on Fodors.
And I'd like the URL for my "ROME: 'Ides Of March' Julius Caesar's Assassination Walking Tour", it will be ~ #63 if you click-on my screen name.
I was wondering if you could post that URL on this thread for me so I can save it.
Thanks...Regards, Walter

Hmmm... that's an awfully generous offer. Probably yes. St. Peter's, interior would definitely be appealing, and/or Vatican Musei (what subject matter? Sistine?) Pantheon or Piazza la Rotonda, or Trevi (not well suited for Trevi?); I wish I knew what choices you can recall.

There was a St Peters's exterior, Rex - but no interior.
As I remember, the others were mostly of 3 'sights' (- rather than a single 360 view) artistically 'fused'. They included all the usual e.g Trevi, Colosseum, Forum ...
They were rather nice (- and good value at only € 2.80 each). Sorry I can't be of more help.
Let me know what you think ...
I'll check back later.

At that price - - and with the generousity of your thinking of me... sounds like I have nothing to lose. I'll take any two or three that you think are worthy purchases. I'm happy to gamble that even if it sould turn out that I don't like them, someone here will be interested. That's what eBay is for, huh?
Let me know how much, and how to pay you (PayPal?). E-mail me for shipping address.
Thank you very much.
