Meridiana Airlines On-Time Record

In looking at various stats on on-time departures and arrivals it seems Meridiana has a poor record. We have a flight in May on Meridiana from FLR to AMS (7:20am to 9:20am) to connect to a USAir flight at 10:55am to PHL. That gives us a 95 minute connect time.

Does anyone have any experience in flying Meridiana from Florence? Are they as bad on their scheduled times as I've heard?

I think it's not a good idea even if they had a 100% record and frequently arrived early

How much will you have to pay if the flight is late and you miss your USAir flight?

I flew Meridiana on Friday evening, Florence to Gatwick. No problems at all - took off on time, landed 20 minutes early.

As already stated, I would not risk that sort of connection time.

I Flew back of LGW on Sunday morning on BA to Pisa as the flight was earlier than the meridiana to Florence. Because of the weather we were nearly 5 hours on the tarmac before take off.

Three weeks previously, I was on the same flight which was delayed for 4 hours because of engine problems. You can just never tell.

I really really would not want to be stuck at Florence airport thinking about missing my flight home from Amsterdam.

Ninety-five minutes is way too tight a connection. Fly to Amsterdam the night before.
