Menu of the Day in Rome
Hello...
Leaving for a week in Rome Nov 28-Dec 5.
Do the restaurants in Rome have anything similar to the reasonably-priced Menus del Dia in Madrid and the Plats du Jour in Paris?
If so, what is it called? Any recommendations?
TIA

Menus of the day are not common in Rome. Restaurants do have specials, listed for the most part on the Italian language menus as described in the above post. What is more common in Rome is the osteria concept where you pay a fixed price and are served a few or more courses but are not given a choice. They bring out what they cooked that day. Places like Dar Pallaro, Alfredo e Ada, da Tonio and Dino and Tony's Hosteria are like this.
