Memory card corrupted
We just got back from our 10+ weeks in France. One of my memory cards (compact flash) was corrupted and I cannot access some 300+ pictures of the Dordogne, Lot, Provence. Sad, sad, sad. :'( I did access about 70 pictures from this memory card.
Is there anyway of retreiving any of the "lost 300 pictures"? :-\ |
There's a good chance for a happy outcome. Google compact flash memory retrieval and start sifting.
If you wait a few hours, someone with more direct experience than I have will probably wander through here and save you some research. |
I've used PC inspector from Convar before, and it recovered nearly all the pictures from a corrupt SD card. It used to be freely available

What is the make of your card? If it's either a Lexar or Sandisk, they have retreival software available.
If it's one of the budget brands, do a google search and you should find something. Good luck. |
This link, from an earlier thread, has several websites for photo retrieval. http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34537989

Thank you, Robespierre, Jim, kybourbon and especially Willit. I was able to retrieve most of my "lost" pictures using PC Inspector File Recovery (downloaded free) and my SanDisk card reader. \:D/

Glad to be able to help. It is hugely frustrating when you find your camara card has corrupted, or film is damaged. Or in one memorable glitch, that I had taken 36 photos without film in the camera :-(
I am seriously thinking of getting a portable backup device so that I can "upload" pictures every day when on holiday - just so I can avoid losing a large number of photographs if the card goes bad. |
