Meeting Place in Santa Lucia Train Station
 

Does anyone have a good idea for a meeting point in Venice's Santa Lucia train station. As we are seniors, we are looking forward to meeting up with our young friends when we arrive by train into Santa Lucia. Our friends who will have arrived a day or so earlier, have offered to meet us at the station to lend a hand with the luggage and a route to our hotel.

Do you have/can you arrange a reserved seat on your train? If so,the reservation confirmation will tell you the number of the seat as well as thagt of the coach coach. If you have a way to communicate this information to your friends before your arrival, they can look up on the platform diagram where exactly your coach will stop (location A, B, C,. etc.) and meet you as you detrain. This way they can help you with the luggage right from the start. The Santa Lucia station is all on one level.

If you go out the front door (facing the Grand Canal) there is a small outdoor restaurant to your left at the top of the stairs. Or there is a tourist information centre to the left as well.

The tourist information center is well marked and will be easy for you to find.

Treplow's idea is also a good one, but you should have a plan to meet at the tourist information center if they are delayed getting to the station.

You can also stand or sit on the steps in front of the train station. It will be brighter out and easier to see everyone.

You can watch the world go by until your and your friends meet.
