Meeting friends in Venice - where to stay

Friends from the U.S. are traveling to Italy in May and have asked me to join them in Italy. They are staying at the Londra Palace (400 euros plus per night). Any suggestions on a nice, more moderately priced accommodation? Minimum 3 stars. Will pay up to 225 euros per night for a single (with bath). Ideally not far from their hotel.

Thank you!

I think this place would fit the bill and not be too far away from your friends, either:

I stayed here for just one night, and it was perfectly nice. Not far from your friends' hotel:

Thank you both very much. These are both good possibilities and well under my budget max - is 225 euros per night single rate enough for a four star hotel in the Londra's vicinity? Any 4-star recs?
