Meersburg, Germany

I was wondering if anyone has been to Meersburg recently. In doing a "search" most of the posts are from a while back.

Can anyone recommend a very nice hotel/inn to stay in either on or within walking distance to the lake.

Thanks in advance.

Elsa,
Meersburg is a typical summer and nice weather destination.
I would assume, the accommodation recommendations given in older posts should still be valid.
Other than that, Meersburg has a nice web site, all in German though. Sorry, can't help with hotels. Never stayed overnight.
www.meersburg.de/

I was in Meersburg last summer. A wonderful place! The whole area around the Bodensee is beautiful! I just saw recommendations for hotels in Karen Brown's book on Germany. I believe she recommended two or three quaint hotels in the town. Can't give you names but check out her book.

Elsa,

http://www.meersburg.de/baeren/seite3.htm

This site is in German, but you can run the URL through a translation site like Alta Vista.

I highly recommend the Zum Baraen in Meersburg. It is highly recommended on this forum. Herr Michael Gilowsky, the owner/chef, is a great host. Also check the Rants and Rave section.

Just about everything in Meersburg is within walking distance to the lake. Walking back is another story as the climb is pretty straight up. Walk down and take the bus back.

Beautiful small town.

Dick
