Medications/Do I REALLY need to get the prescription from my Dr.?

Let's be clear here that we are talking about two very different situations.
#1 You are carrying medication that is vital to your health. Certainly you need to be sure you have whatever necessary to replace it should it be lost or stolen -- original bottle, copy of prescription, whatever.
#2 You are carrying prescription medication that is for your comfort or convenience only, e.g., Ambien, anti-biotics.
I don't think julies was giving advice to people who fall into category #1 or suggesting they should be careless. But for those of us in category #2, is there really a danger of being hassled about meds out of the original bottle?
And by the way, I mix my vitamins in one bottle, but everything else I carry in a small, flat, multi-compartment pill case that keeps the various meds separated.
