Medication container
 

I just read that now medications MUST be in original containers to be included in carry-on luggage. Can anyone verify this? Since we get our meds in 90 day supplies it would be cumbersome to use those containers.

Try www.tsa.gov. I typed "medication" in the key word search. It gives rules and describes how to request special handling. Hope it is helpful.

Your doctor can easily write you a prescription for a shorter period in smaller containers. It is a very common request . . . . . . . .

But it can mean paying a lot more for fewer pills or whatever--our HMO charges the same price for a 90-day supply that it does for a small bottle.

I've been carrying medicines in little custom containers for over 40 years and never once had them imspected or even noticed . .

Now . . I can not say the same about bringing back a kilo of CHinese Gunpowerder Tea from Hong Kong . . did that ever cause some attention! !

Can you ask your pharmacy to print a duplicate label for smaller bottles? Another trick is to place containers within containers. You can also have your Dr. sign a list of your meds.

I'm another who has been traveling for over 40 years and carrying meds in custom containers in my carry-on or purse with no problems.

But if you are worried , just ask your pharmacist to run another label and put it on a small bottle. There will be no charge, you can put however many pills you want in them. I'm a pharmacist and we do it all the time for kids who have to take meds to school with them and don't want to take a 30-90 day supply bottle!
