Med Cruise question

I know this is NOT the cruise forum, but I trust you guys. I don't have any idea about the cruise posters. My husband and I are seriously considering a med cruise to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We want to depart from Barcelona, and spend 2 or 3 days there before we leave. I am just starting to look. I know RCCL has a 7 day going from there. I'm sure Celebrity and Princess have 10 day cruises. 10 days may be too long if we want to see Barcelona first. Anyone have personal experience with either of these cruise lines in the Med? We won't be ging until May or June. One last thing. I don't need any excursion advice, yet. Thanks in advance.

zwho, I truly believe the cruise board would be the best board to get advise from.

You might try asking this question on one of the boards at either www.cruise-addicts.com or www.cruisecritic.com
There is a webiite that WAS mentioned on the Fodors cruise board just a few days ago which apparently shows all the ship itineraries from various ports.

My husband and I did a Mediteranean cruise with Celebrity last year (11 nights/Constellation) and then rented a car in Barcelona and drove around the Costa Brava for 5 days. We enjoyed the cruise experience as it was nice not to have to take your luggage from place to place, and I admit it was very relaxing in comparison to our usual traveling, BUT it is hard to just be somewhere for one day and have to go back to the ship.

Celebrity was great - good service, good (cruise ship) food, beautiful ship. I would recommend you get a room with a balcony. We did however get the noro virus, which undoubtedly put a damper on the vacation, so be cautious. The staff could have been more helpful in that situation.

My husband and I have been on a Med cruise; we started in Rome and ended in Barcelona. The cruise itself was 5 days, and we had days in Rome at the beginning and days in Barcelona at the end. The cruise line was Orient Cruise Lines. These ships are smaller but much more elegant than other ships on which I have cruised. Look on the internet at i-cruise.com and enter your destination. You will get lots of choices.
